Since there are only 31.7 million bloggers in the United States, I'm thinking it's important that I jump in and get some content out there so this blogging space isn't so empty (hopefully you're reading the intended sarcasm here).

I've been thinking of jumping into the blogging world for some time. The reason I haven't done this sooner is I couldn't figure out what kind of content I wanted to write. I'm not really an expert of anything, so what do I really have to offer, or why would someone want to read anything I have to write.

I am what many would consider a jack of all trades, but a master of none. To give some background, I've been the President and CEO of a multi million dollar construction company that does business in excess of 30 states, employing hundreds of people, and working for some of the largest companies in the United States.

I'm the father of a special needs daughter. I've been married 27 years and have four children.

I've been a head coach of a high school varsity basketball team, and currently volunteer as an assistant coach. I've also coached football, baseball and soccer.

I'm bi-lingual, speaking English and Spanish fluently (multi lingual if you consider pig latin a language), and worked as a Spanish interpreter for the criminal court system for 7 years.

I worked in auto claims as a claims adjuster for three years.

While attending college, I worked at a sporting goods store as well as a jewelry store. I lived over two years in Spain, and have spent time in ten different foreign countries. I've also had the opportunity to visit forty states throughout my life.

I've served on a school board, and spent several years as board chair.

I love music - I love to sing and play piano, and I'm currently teaching myself to play guitar. I've performed in several musicals and plays in my life.

I consider myself a spiritual person.

I'm an Eagle Scout, and have spent time volunteering in the Boy Scouts.

I've enjoyed studying history, political science, Spanish, psychology, sociology, project management, and courses on organizational behavior and theory. I'm a published author, having written more than 20 articles for various trade magazines. I've had the opportunity to give presentations and speak to audiences in excess of 500 people.

I've experienced trauma in life, and learned how to be a survivor. Recently my family lost our home and all of our earthy possessions in a wildfire. My family lived in an RV for almost two years as we rebuilt our home, enduring many difficulties during the process - some examples are Covid, heat in excess of 115 degrees for several days, and a major ice storm that knocked out power for 5 days.

Through these traumas, I've learned resilience and optimism.

The name of my blog site is A Little Bit of Everything. Although I may not be a master of anything, I'm pretty good at many things. I don't think I will ever consider myself a master of anything, as I believe there is always more to learn! My hope is this blog site will be a place I can share opinions (and anyone that knows me understands I have opinions about everything), and hopefully it will be done in a way that is interesting and perhaps insightful to others. If not, I will be just another blogger amongst the other 31.7 million in the US doing this.

I want to say thank you for reading my initial blog, and hopefully it was taken in the spirit intended and not seen as "tooting my own horn". I look forward to this new experience and challenge!
